What Do We Need to Do Analytic Philosophy:

Methods and Research Strategies

November 14, 2025 12:00—14:30 (UTC+5)

The uAnalytiCon Team organized a special online event, What Do We Need to Do Analytic Philosophy: Methods and Research Strategies. The event was a part of the UrFU’s Department of Philosophy’s 60th anniversary celebration program Symposium-60: Toward Perpetual Banquet!

During the event, we discussed the range of questions related to contemporary practices of doing philosophy:

  • Should conceptual analysis should be done only with formal methods?
  • How should one choose the right formalism for research?
  • Does the aim of thought experiments consists only in making intuitions explicit?
  • Is it reasonable to use methods from other sciences to solve philosophical problems?
  • What are the current perspectives for experimental philosophy?

The event program included a plenary talk by Friederike Moltmann, a series of presentations, and an open-format discussion.

The event was held in Russian and English.
